Memorial Plaque, 21/88 J.B. Tolson, 21st Btn (Tyneside Scottish) Northumberland Fusiliers. Died of wounds on the 2nd July 1916 (Battle of the Somme).  Born in Crewe, Cheshire in 1888 and later resident of Cumberland and Stella, County Durham. Tolson was a former coal miner. He enlisted in Newcastle Upon Tyne and sadly died from his wounds on the second day of the Somme offensive.
