Victory Medal awarded to 8/4188 Pte. J. Hopper, 8th. Battalion Durham Light Infantry. Pte. Hopper was a resident of Coxhoe, Durham and he enlisted on 24/6/1915. James Hopper was wounded in action (gun shot wound to the chest) on 8/4/1918 during the German spring offensive. Two days later he died as a result of his wounds. He had also served under ther service number 301098 in the 1st/5th Btn, D.L.I. Remembered with honour. St. Sever Cemetery Extention, Rouen. Comes with a wealth of service documents and research.
