WW1 British War Medal awarded to 2666 Pte.  Alexander Henry Craigie, 44th. Australian Infantry. Born in London, England, Craigie was a miner by trade. He joined the Army in Spring 1916, aged 32. Formerly served for six years with the G.I.R. Whilst serving in France with the 44th. Australian Infantry he suffered a gun shot wound to the head and thorax on the 10th June 1917. Alexander Craigie was discharged, medically unfit due to blindness on the 18th July 1921. Comes with copy of service papers.
