Rare First World War Disabled Soldiers scroll to an Army Chaplain. Lieutenant Charles Herbert Pauling 5th. Battalion Durham Light Infantry. Born in Doncaster and later a resident of Thirsk, Charles Pauling served as an Army Chaplain in the DLI until he relinquished his commission on account of ill health caused by wounds. Lt. Pauling was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal also a Silver War Badge. The scroll is in an old frame which is a little worse for wear. Comes with copy of post was Diocese directory, SWB roll, index card, 1911 census, medal roll and five London Gazette entries.
