WWI Framed Medal Group – Machine Corps (Cavalry) And Essex Yeomanry (War Medal and Victory Medal)

Awarded to 101290 PTE. Leonard James  Clarke M.G.C.

Clarke, a resident of Colchester, joined the army in 1914 serving with the Essex yeomanry (number 1337).

Later transferred to 4th reserve cavalry regiment, 1917  transferred to the machine gun corps (Cavalry training centre).

The former insurance clerk served with the 21st machine gun squadron as a trooper and gunner.

He served overseas with the Egyptian expeditionary force.

Medals are framed with a photo of Clarke in uniform with box of issue (named to Clarke) and MGC.

Shoulder title and cap badge.
