USAAF WW2 A-11 Intermediate Flying Helmet & ANB-H-1 Reciever

The Intermediate, Type A-11 is constructed of soft brown leather with doeskin lining. Earphone receptacles have interior kapok stuffed ring pads designed to lessen pressure on the ears and to cut out external noise. There is a rear belt and buckle size adjuster, also goggle strap retaining tabs. The helmet has a leather chin strap with metal buckles and RAU Fastener Co. stud and hook Fittings to take the oxygen mask. The middle leather panel has painted insignia of the US Army Air Force. The label reads – Type A-11, Specification 3189, Size-Extra Large, Stock No. 8300-396000, Order No. (33-038)44-3177A.F. The Selby Shoe Co. Property Air Forces. U.S. Army. These helmets were designed to provide protection within the ”intermediate” temperature range of -10 degrees C – +10 degrees C. This helmet has the ANB-H-15 receiver earphones installed complete with fabric wrapped wiring and jack plug. Overall condition of all parts is excellent.
