Father & Son WWI/WWII/Post WWII Medal Group
Imperial Service medal, British war medal, & Victory medal with boxes etc.
Awarded to 901497 GNR. Robert Wastell, Royal Artillery. A postal worker from Gateshead who served in WWI with the RFA (T.F) 901497 & 281833 & went back to the postal duties after the war, serving 43years in the post office. He died 21st November 1963 at Dunston Hill Hospital.
Defence medal, Fire brigade long service medal, and ST. John’s ambulance medal with boxes, certificates and rare NFS ID tags (stamped Wastell R.S. area 1 division F NFS 109392)
There is also an NFS badge, button and ST Christopher token.
Robert S. Wastell was born in 1911, worked as a rent collector and clerk.
He served with Gateshead auxillery fire and service during WWII and later in the regular fire brigade.
Awarded SJA first aid medal in 1961.
