A resident of Ryton Upon Tyne, James Weallans enlisted on the 17/10/1914.
He landed in France on 27/06/1915 and was then discharged on the 26/12/1916 at the age of 21 years old; he suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was entitled to a silver war badge.
