WWI Memorial Plaque And Victory Medal Canadian 703226 PTE. Frank Mckinnell KIA Vimy Ridge Of The 102nd Canadian Infantry. 

Born 1887, a lagger by trade and resident of Vancouver, Canada.

He enlisted in 1916 aged 28, on the 12th August 1916 Mckinnell’s unit landed in France.

Frank Mckinnell was a company scout and was killed in action during the attack on Vimy Ridge, while advancing on the extreme left of his company.

He was apparently struck by a piece of shrapnel and killed on the 9th April 1917.

The attack on Vimy Ridge lasted until the 12th of April, Mckinnell sadly being killed on the first day. (Sadly his war medal is missing)

Comes with a wealth of service papers and an old photo of the 102nd Battalion Vimy Cross.
