WWI Pair / Defence Medal S2SR/04301 S.SJT William Victor Roy, ASC.
Born – Cape colony, South Africa. Joined the army as a boy soldier, aged 14, in 1902.
He served in China for almost 3 years between 1908 and 1910.
He later served during WWI and served as a police constable during WWII while residing in Hemsworth Yorkshire.
Roys serial number prefix indicates he was with supply branch as a special reserve.
Comes with copy of papers etc.
